It is kind of scary how fast these last 5 months have gone by. Before I know it, I'll be planning the big 1 year birthday celebration! I can't really think about that one. She is doing so great and seems to be happier each day. But when this girl gets tired, she sort of hates life. It is fascinating and just like clockwork! At 5 months old, here are some of the things she is doing:
-Sleeps all night long, usually from 8:15pm-7:00am. And then usually naps 2-3 times a day, ranging from 45 minutes (she's not a happy camper after those...neither am I!) to 2 1/2 hours
-rolling from tummy to back, but enjoying tummy time like crazy now, so she rarely rolls over!
-rolled from back to tummy today, but it of course was when I was getting my cereal (that is so her style to finally do it when I leave the room!). She has rolled over before but then instantly rolls back, so I haven't really counted that. This time she adjusted her arms and stayed on her tummy
-at her doctor's appointment last Friday she weighed 14 lb 15 oz- a growing girl!
-still loves her bath
-will stop crying immediately when you take her outside or read "Barnyard Dance"
-helps hold her bottle during her feedings, some times better than others
-laughs when you tickle her but doesn't think funny faces are funny at all!
-absolutely lights up when Corby comes in after work (it is adorable!)
-goes crazy when you go into get her when she wakes up in the morning... kicks her legs and beats her arms against her body
-has discovered that she can squeal, and she wants everyone to hear it!
-loves watching us eat... I think she's getting close to starting food. I'm going to try to wait until 6 months (as recommended by her doctor), but I may start a little early.
-she really only cries when she's tired now... such a wonderful thing! I was obviously used to the all-day crying, but I am glad it is gone!
-she loves music... her favorite songs are "He's got the whole world", "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes", a song Corby made up (he just spells her name and she loves it!), and "If you're happy and you know it" (this one almost makes her giddy!)
We are forever thankful that the Lord blessed us with this sweet little girl! We love you so much, Harper!
Chillin' in her chair
Checking out the toys by her bed
First time to sit up in her crib... she definitely loved the ribbon trim!
Hanging out in her big chair
The polo is a little snug... I wanted at least one more wear out of it
An action shot of her beating her arms against her side

Lauren--she is beautiful! Love the pics and the update!! I need to see her again!
She keeps getting cuter and cuter! Hasn't it gone so fast?!?! I do, however, love this age. I miss my little cuddly baby, but by far five months has been the best! We need to hang out again soon!
She is gorgeous!
It just gets more and more fun as they learn more things. :)
