Watch out NYC...

Here comes Leah!!! My sweet little sister was hired as an intern for Seventeen magazine for the summer, and I couldn't be more proud of her! You may remember me posting about her internship in Barcelona for the summer, but that fell through. There ended up not being any fashion opportunities, and that's clearly her passion. So she declined and sought out other options. She had her interview this afternoon and they hired her on the spot. If you know her, you certainly aren't surprised with her success!!! I'm hoping to maybe visit her this summer since I've never been... but we'll just have to see what life is like with Harper! But I am just so proud of her!!!!

As you already know, my mom and sisters are all there for the weekend. They got to meet Ann Curry from the Today show this morning, and I must say... I am pretty jealous. But I got to see them all on tv while I watched the Today show, so that was fun for me! Another fun part of my day is that I'm dilated 1cm. I realize that may be too much information for some of you, but it was some progress that really excited me!!! I'm still assuming she won't come early... however, I won't be opposed to it! :) I hope that you have a great weekend!

Large and in Charge

Maybe I'm not THAT large... but it's certainly how I feel! Anyway, here I am at 38 weeks.

There's no need to make fun of my attempt at being artsy. I sort of have fun messing with photoshop, and this is what I came up with today. I know that I'm not very good at it, but practice makes perfect, right?!?!? I just figure that I need to get good at it since I have this great camera!

I've been feeling as good as you can at 38 weeks... fairly uncomfortable, but I'm pretty sure that is expected. I've packed my bag and made a list of the last minute items to add to it, just in case Harper decides to surprise us and come early. Based on my doctor's appointment last week, it doesn't appear that she'll be coming early. I think she is quite comfortable in there and doesn't care to leave any time soon. Honestly, I don't really blame her. It's quite the life, if you really think about it! And although I am ready for her to be here, she has been instructed to stay put until next Monday. My mom and sisters are all going to New York City for the weekend, so I really don't want her coming while they are gone. Yes... you read that correctly... every one but me. I'm trying to not be jealous, but it's rather hard! Leah has some internship interviews (pray that they go well!), so they are making a small trip out of it. I really am excited that they get to "get away" for a few days (they all certainly deserve it!), I just wish the timing would've worked out a little better. So needless to say, I definitely want my mom here at Harper's birth, so she seriously can't come this weekend! I keep trying to remind myself that the Lord knows the desires of my heart, so I need to be confident in His timing! I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Harper's "Going Home" outfit!

Clearly, I am ready for Harper to be here! However, according to my doctor's appointment today, it doesn't appear that she'll be coming early. I have decided that I am fine with that... but I'm not necessarily okay with her being late either. So hopefully she'll be right on time...March 9th. But just in case she does come early, her going home outfit is here and ready for her! I ordered this precious gown and hat from lucys-pocket.com- a website my sister-in-law introduced me to. I love this website! It is so reasonably priced, and it only took about 10 days for it to be shipped. I can't wait for Harper to wear this little gown. It's probably going to be a little big on her, but I don't really care... it is too cute for her to not wear it home!

A room fit for a queen... or maybe just Baby Harper!

Well... I finally finished putting together Harper's room. This has been so much fun, but I am very glad to be done! Clearly, the painting is my absolute favorite part of the room... and the bedding is probably my second favorite part! Enjoy the pictures!

The view from the door

Shelf on the wall

A place where I will be spending a lot of time! The bear in the chair was Corby's when he was a baby.

A fabulous view of the painting!!!

The most amazing painting ever! Kelly Furr... you are UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Harper's bedding... I ended up getting it off of ebay. A lady ordered 2 custom sets from a store here in Dallas and chose the other one. I randomly found it, and the bumper was the fabric that I've loved ever since I found this crib! I still can't believe that someone would order the bedding and never use it!

Another corner view

How cute is her little chair?!?!? Thanks Riggan family!

The other wall with her dresser and changing pad

And now that the room is finally complete, she can go ahead and come out! I tell her that every day, but she doesn't seem to want to budge!

28 Days...

Wow... can I really only have 28 days left?!?!?! After a day like today, I kind of wish she'd come out tomorrow, but I realize that won't happen. The nerve damage pain is so miserable...I'm just praying that it will go away once she's out. I won't be a happy camper if it has caused permanent damage. When I think about there only being 4 more weeks, I have so many different emotions. Currently, there are some fears when it comes to labor, but I assume those are fairly normal.

In order to keep myself busy, I plan on packing what can be packed and making a list of other needed items for the hospital this week. I also ordered a bag of grosgrain ribbon, so I will be making Harper some really BIG bows (they are my favorite!!!).

Today I picked up the most fabulous painting I have ever seen for Harper's room. My friend Katie brought it back to me from Little Rock, and I can't wait to post a picture of it. My childhood best friend, Kelly, is an artist (unbelievable, I will add), and it is such a blessing to have a piece of her work in Harper's room! I plan on finishing everything else in the room tomorrow, so I will post some pictures as soon as it's complete. But I'm telling you.... it is a room fit for a queen (if I do say so myself). I can't wait for it to finally be done!!! For now I leave you in suspense and will make you wait until tomorrow. :)
