Happy Thanksgiving!

I obviously have so much to be thankful for, and that guy and precious little girl are at the top of that list! I feel like this year has been filled with a lot of hurt and pain, as so many people I know have dealt with loss. Therefore, no matter what has gone on in my life, I must be thankful. The Lord has blessed me in a huge way!!! Speaking of that sweet little girl... she has a double ear infection. Sweet thing didn't sleep at all on Tuesday night, but was fine for the most part yesterday. However, when it was time for her dinner last night, she went crazy and didn't stop screaming for quite a while. Thank you, after hours pediatric clinic at Baptist...even if we contracted something while being there (we probably did!), you made our night much better last night. She has been much happier this morning, but she is obviously very tired today! Thankfully we don't have a whole lot going on today, so we will be resting! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that you have a wonderful day, focusing on the things that really matter!

Harper and Sawyer, Sittin' in a tree...

We went to Fayetteville early, and hid at the Henry's house... so Leah wouldn't know we were there! Thank you again, Katie, for letting us invade for a few days! It was so nice not having to take any baby stuff! Who knew it would be such a luxury to travel with only a suitcase?!?! It took Harper and Sawyer a little while to get used to each other, but by the end of the trip, they were big fans of one another! We stayed pretty busy with Leah, but I did get to spend some great time with my best friend, Aubrey.... and we also got to meet Lyla Blagg and baby boy Bailey (still residing in Jenessa's womb!). It was such a fun treat to see some of my favorite people! I took so many pictures, but narrowed them down to a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

I love the pleased look on her face!

I LOVED his hat... and this picture cracked me up!

No need to spend money on toys when you have plastic cups!

They "fought" over this toy. As you can see, Harper won.

So precious!

Laying on her side is her new thing... she does it all of the time!
It definitely looked like she was putting the moves on Sawyer!

Go Hogs!!!

Sawyer, Harper, and Aunt Barbie!
She is the best... and her blonde hair puts Harper in a trance!

Leah's Engagement: In Pictures

It has taken me forever to get our trip uploaded. Free time has not been something I've had this week. I still have a lot of pictures of Harper and Sawyer Henry, but for now... here's Leah's engagement celebration! We had such a wonderful time celebrating with Leah and Mike. I loved getting to be with them over the weekend... I also loved being with their friends- they are hilarious! I can't wait to get started with the wedding planning (Yes...I think it is fun and not stressful!). Here are some of my favorite pictures...

Newly Engaged and loving every minute of it!

Michael put a ring on it!!!

Congratulations to Leah and Michael!!!! They got engaged on Saturday night, but I couldn't say anything until her candlelight at the Pi Phi house (which was last night!). Harper and I are still here visiting Leah, but we'll be home tomorrow. So I will definitely post many more pictures from our time here once we are back in Dallas! But for now... I just wanted everyone to know that little Leah is getting married!!! Woo Hoo!!! We are SO excited for them!!!

2/3 of a year old!

Harper is 8 months old today, and once again... I can hardly believe it! She is more precious than ever, and of course, we are loving every minute with her. She is definitely a growing girl. More than once this week, I was told she is such a big baby. I never know what to say to that, because really... she is below average with weight, but she is certainly growing. Here are some of the things she is doing at 8 months:

-Sleeping 11-12 hours at night, and lately taking 2, 2 hour naps... I think we are finished with the 30 minute naps! Yay!
-She is talking more and loves to yell
-Still not crawling but wants to SO badly! From the sitting up position, she throws herself forward and just ends up on her back. Sweet thing will learn it soon!
-She definitely prefers her momma and daddy. She has no interest in the church nursery, but I am determined for that to change... so we still drop her off every week. She is getting better with babysitters.
-Every time she has something in her left hand, she daintily shakes it above her head... it's one of our favorite things lately!
-She has 3 meals and 4 bottles a day... her favorite foods are sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, pears, yogurt, and when you mix any of those together... it's extra delicious!
-She LOVES puffs and any other table food that she can feed herself. She gets toast in the morning with her food, and that is a fan favorite.
-Still mastering the sippy cup, but I am really proud of her! She loves water!
-She is really looking forward to her first major holidays... Thanksgiving and Christmas! Holidays have always been a really big deal in my family, and I definitely plan on making them a huge deal for our family!

I took some pictures of her at the park... I thought they turned out pretty cute!

She enjoyed the swing for over an hour!

She also chewed on her finger the majority of the time.

One of her more serious moments

Looking innocent for the camera

Quite the multitasker... swinging and chewing on her foot!

And yes, her birthday party plans are in the works. I think about it often!

We Survived!

Harper and I officially survived our first weekend all alone! Corby went to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama game, and we stayed home. I was a little nervous because I really depend on Corby for weekend help. In fact, he does everything on the weekends... so I knew it would be quite a change for me. Thanks to the Dallas Sample Sale at Market, Mare, Harper, and I stayed very busy on Saturday. We had a lot of fun together, but we were both really happy to see Corby this afternoon! Even though the Cowboys are playing tonight, I think it will be early to bed for me! I am exhausted. I hope you had a great weekend!!!

Bottle Holder

Harper has been doing her latest trick, holding her own bottle, for a few weeks now. It has recently become more consistent, and most of the time she gets mad if you help her (not a good sign for the future). Her meals take a little longer now because she easily gets distracted. Instead of drinking, it is more fun to shake the bottle over her face or just throw the bottle on the floor. Yes, milk gets everywhere. But since I still hold her, I can easily get her back on track. I am so proud of her, and I think she's pretty excited about it too!

Sanctification in Marriage

Whew... our pastor, Matt Chandler, preached a sermon on marriage a few weeks ago, and I was finally able to listen to the whole thing. I heard half of it at church, but Harper girl wasn't interested in the nursery, so I missed the other half. It is almost an hour, so it took a while to find the time to listen to it. But let me tell you... it is POWERFUL! Convicting, yes... but those are my favorite sermons. And it just so happens, Matt preaches that way every week, so I'm right where I need to be! If you have the time (and really you should just make the time), go to itunes, search The Village Church, and listen to "The Path, part 7: Sanctification in Marriage". It will challenge you, for sure! He speaks to both the husband and the wife, so it would be great to listen to it together... just a suggestion!
