Dear Harper, Please fall asleep. Thank you.

As I type this, she is screaming her head off. Before you panic and think I'm not taking care of her, I go in every 5 minutes to let her know that "I'm here". She did well for about 3 nights with sleeping at night, but the last few have been awful again. Last night she didn't fall asleep until 2:30 am, and I'm afraid tonight we might have the same scenario. She breaks out of her swaddle because she fights it SO hard... so you might be thinking, don't swaddle her. Oh wait... that's currently how she is- still upset. It seems to be a no win situation right now. Right now I can handle it, but at 2am, it just brings out the worst in me. It almost always makes me cry, and when I start to cry, Corby knows it's his turn to take over. He is so helpful in the middle of the night, which is such a sacrifice considering he has to work the next day. I'm not necessarily looking for advice on the sleeping thing because I know it's just a phase... I simply needed to vent. So, thanks for listening.

But on a very fun note, my friend, Katie, had her baby today at 3am! Harper can't wait to meet her new friend Sawyer... we might just have to have an arranged marriage! He is precious and I am SO proud of Katie! She is going to be such a great mom!!!

I'll post some pictures of Harper tomorrow... I don't have any new ones uploaded.

Clearly she's missing her nightly snuggle time with Kay-Kay! It makes me want to cry, too!! Just hang in there, sweetie, it will get better......and someday you won't even remember these long, sleepless nights! Then you'll just be sitting up wondering where she is and why she's not home!!:)

I love you....Mom

Woah, Kay-Kay! Not only did the post bring a tear to my eye, but your sweet comment brought many more! You are such a great mom, and I thank you that you have passed that along to your daughters! Lauren, you are going to make it! Thanks for keeping us updated so that we know how to pray! Love you!

vent away! I know just how you feel, and it WILL be over soon I promise! I remember sobbing in the rocker practically every night, but at this point it is a very, very distant memory. Hang in there!
PS. If it takes rocking her (or anything else! except maybe sleeping in your bed...) to put her to sleep, DO IT! She is a teeny tiny baby, I promise you won't spoil her.

I just found your blog and your baby is PRECIOUS!

Sleep, or the lack thereof, is definitely a hard thing to deal with. Good luck!!

OH MY GOODNESS Olivia was the same way! I'm praying for you friend! Have you noticed at all Harper not wanting to lay on her back? Possible reflex issues? Just a thought.

Hey girl! You blog is too fun to read. And little Harper is absolutely precious! I'm with your mom, soon this will be over and you won't remember it (well, till you have another one, and then you will for a short time)! As much as this stinks to hear when you are so sleep deprived...ENJOY IT!!!! It is over so fast...and then you get woken up in the middle of the night because they've wet the bed, or they need a cup of water, or they've gotten sick, had a bad dream, couldn't sleep, etc. Madeline had a hard time sleeping and we ended up sticking her in the swing literally almost EVERY NIGHT till she was about 3 months old. With Delaney in school and Isabelle being home, I had to sleep and that was the only way we could. Try it...she might like it! And now, Madeline has no trouble at all...we lay her down and she is out like a light in no time. Hang in there...this to shall pass! Love ya and can't wait to meet Harper sometime!

How about I send you a tape of me singing all of my favorite Lullaby's? Although, that could cause more crying for BOTH of you.... ;)

Hang in there!

Love,
Cuz

Have you heard of the "miracle blanket?" It's a special swaddler that I read about on a blog. You could google it and check it out. It's suppose to be "wiggle free" proof.
