Hello, Big Tex!

A good time was had by all at the Fair today! The State Fair of Texas is a really big deal around here...it lasts 3 weeks! We thought it would be less crowded this afternoon because of the Cowboy's game, but we were wrong. Yes, Corby chose the Fair over watching the game! I think he had had enough football disappointment for the weekend, and he didn't want it to get worse! And had we stayed home, it would've been a rough afternoon for him! Harper had a blast looking at all of the animals. But her favorite part was Big Tex, the cowboy that welcomes you to the fair! We went to a dog show and a pig race, and she clapped and yelled "yay" the whole time! We also enjoyed some corn dogs and a funnel cake... so delicious! At first she was hesitant to try the funnel cake, but once she tried it, she couldn't get enough of it! Until next year, "bye bye Big Tex" (something she said the entire way home from the fair!)

Big Tex! Harper LOVED waving to him!

Hanging out with Boris... the 1200 pound pig!

She also loved the petting zoo!

Who doesn't love a bunch of baby pigs?!?!
I also had a picture of the newborn zebra, but it wouldn't load!
She was born today at 6am, and her sweet little legs were still wobbly!

She was LOVING the pig races!

Harper and all of the pigs (they're in the background)

Ending the night on a sweet note!

Go Hogs Go!!!

Corby and I went to the Arkansas/A&M game yesterday, and thankfully we came out with a win!!! We had such a great time with a couple from our homegroup. Now, I have some amazing Aggie friends, but I got quite a kick out of those yell leaders! I just found them to be silly! But I'm sure if I had gone there, it would've seemed normal. Don't be mad at me if you went there...please. In the end, I'm just really glad we won! Those tickets weren't cheap (Come on, Jerry!), so a loss would've been especially disappointing! And while we were at the game, Harper spent her day with Gama and Pop-pop!!! She had a blast with them! Thanks again for coming into town to stay with her!

Cute little Tusk!

The view from our seats

The team... unfortunately we weren't the home team,
so they didn't get to run through the "A"!

This was probably before Corby saw the Alabama score!
He handled it all really well though!

We won!!!

Dirt Lover

During outside time, Harper can either be found swinging or digging in the sand box! This girl loves dirt!!! And of course, she's the only girl in there! It cracks me up!!!

I have so many pictures to post, but I just can't seem to find the time to upload them. This whole work thing is hard to get used to!!! I don't know how some moms also work a full-time job!!!

Things I don't want to forget...

Harper is at a really fun age! Yes, I wished she napped for longer than 20 minutes each day...but I wouldn't change anything else! Here are a few things she does that I will forget if I don't write them down!

-she walks everywhere on her tip toes!
-she said "thank you" after I did saline and the bulb syringe in her nose the other day!
-she says her version of "bless you" anytime we cough, sneeze, or blow our nose
-don't judge but she sort of has beiber fever!
-she thinks animals are hilarious!!!
-she loves having tea parties and while drinking from her cup, she makes a sipping sound... Even though there's nothing in her cup!
-she loves everything about mother's day out except nap time! As all my children are sleeping, I can currently hear her appeal to her teacher that nap time just isn't for her!

Here she is pouring her tea

And this made me laugh... After I watered the flowers, she enjoyed the leftover water on the porch! She claimed she wasn't thirsty but I'm not sure I believe her!!!

A very thankful 18 month old!

Harper turned 18 months old on Saturday! I can't believe that in just 6 more months she'll be 2! It will be here before I know it! She is at such a fun age right now! She's saying new words every day and becoming such a big girl! The one thing that stands out the most is her thankfulness. She doesn't need to be prompted, she will say "thank you" for EVERYTHING! From wiping her snotty nose to changing her diaper to reading her a book... she will say thank you for it all! I love it! She also loves to sing... some of her favorites are "Twinkle Twinkle" and the "bye bye" song from swim lessons. It is so precious hearing her sweet voice singing those songs! She is still obsessed with books and would be perfectly fine reading all day long! And lastly, she loves to dance and play with her musical instruments. Yes... plural... thanks to Auntee LC, she has a piano and a drum that is filled with other musical toys! I can't wait to pay her back someday! Here are a few pictures I had on my phone that were really cute of her!

Some friends came over and brought her a treat from Baskin Robbins!
The clown cone was always my favorite as a child!

She insisted on wearing her sunglasses over her regular glasses at Lowes!

I love her sweet smile!

She wanted to take her baby to the mall!
I love this picture!

A Rainy First Day of School

Mother's Day Out started yesterday, and the day went much better than I had anticipated! It was rainy, so I was worried I wouldn't have enough to entertain my kids in the class, since we couldn't go outside. But it all ended up being fine! Harper gladly walked into her classroom, and she did great until another little boy was upset. My room is connected with hers, so it was kind of hard to hear her crying and not be able to help. I really felt sorry for her teacher. Harper did great until nap time, but she did eventually sleep. The biggest shock of the day for everyone was the fact that I got my 4 to sleep at the same time!!! The moms were all so surprised since their kids had never slept in a room with other kids! All in all, the day went really well for both of us. I assume Harper will be less thrilled about drop-off tomorrow, but I'm prepared for it... I just hope her teacher is too! And unfortunately, she woke up with a little cold this morning! I hope it isn't bad tomorrow... I would feel awful having to get a sub on my first week! Here are a few pictures before heading out to school!

Ready for my Bouncing Bunnies!

Mother's Day Out is about to start for both me and Harper. I'll be the teacher for the "Bouncing Bunnies" and they are 12-18 months! I got to meet most of them yesterday, and I am OBSESSED! They are all so precious! Harper will be in the room next to me, as a Toddling Teddy. My friend, Shannon, brought her up to meet her teacher, and she seemed to do well. She'll be the youngest in the class, but I think it will be great! I have had fun decorating my class this week, but I didn't want it to look like a teacher went crazy! This room is also the nursery for church events, so I needed to make sure all of the colors were soothing and not too overwhelming. I am excited to get started next Tuesday!

Names on clothespins... I'll hang artwork here

Cubby name tags

The birthday sign

Shelf buckets... I thought these turned out really cute!
The sensory buckets will change each month- based on the theme.
