I put Harper down for her nap, and she went along with it, like she always does. Our routine is that I turn on her music, put her in bed with her paci, rub her hair a little and then she's usually out. It really has become that simple... or so I thought. She was being pretty quiet, so I turned on the monitor, and this is what I saw...

Putting it all together...
Harper has been rolling from tummy to back and back to tummy for a while now, but she has finally put it all together! The play mat was fun while it lasted, but now I can't keep her on it! I just love how much she is moving!!! Here are some pictures a videos of her latest accomplishments! Enjoy!
If she could talk, I assume she would ask for carpet instead of hardwood floors!
I can rarely snap the camera fast enough to get
a picture of her on her tummy...
she is just too cute!
Showing off her latest trick of blowing bubbles
Rolling around her room!

"Team Pictures"
When you are married to Corby, you learn to decipher sports lingo used for daily activities. Today, we had "team pictures" (or so he says) taken by the wonderful Kelsey Lantz. And by team pictures, I mean pictures of our family. Kelsey lived with Lindsey when she was in Guatemala, and she is extremely talented. She is living near Dallas right now, so she came over for the day! We looked through her camera at the pictures, and there are some great ones! She will edit them and send them our way. I can't wait to get them! We decided to do it as our anniversary gift to one another, so they are going to be extra special. As soon as we get them, I'll be sure to post them! I hope that you're having a great weekend!

Simply Delightful!
Corby and I went to "I Heart Yogurt" tonight, and it was delicious! I'm not sure how long it has been here in Dallas, but I am thankful it is here! It is self-serve, 12 different yogurt options, and tons of topping options (from watermelon to captain crunch). You can do as much or as little as you want in your bowl and pay 40 cents an ounce. For both of us it was about $5.00...we consider that a good deal in the ice cream world. Of course the kids that come in put just about every yogurt flavor in their bowl and throw on as many toppings as they can, but I went for something more simple... strawberry yogurt, sprinkles (they take me back to my childhood), and chocolate chips. Simply delightful! If you live in Dallas, you need to try it out! It is in the shopping center at Preston and Royal, near the Gap... but I looked on their website and new locations around the Metroplex are about to open!

We have a 5 month old!!!
It is kind of scary how fast these last 5 months have gone by. Before I know it, I'll be planning the big 1 year birthday celebration! I can't really think about that one. She is doing so great and seems to be happier each day. But when this girl gets tired, she sort of hates life. It is fascinating and just like clockwork! At 5 months old, here are some of the things she is doing:
-Sleeps all night long, usually from 8:15pm-7:00am. And then usually naps 2-3 times a day, ranging from 45 minutes (she's not a happy camper after those...neither am I!) to 2 1/2 hours
-rolling from tummy to back, but enjoying tummy time like crazy now, so she rarely rolls over!
-rolled from back to tummy today, but it of course was when I was getting my cereal (that is so her style to finally do it when I leave the room!). She has rolled over before but then instantly rolls back, so I haven't really counted that. This time she adjusted her arms and stayed on her tummy
-at her doctor's appointment last Friday she weighed 14 lb 15 oz- a growing girl!
-still loves her bath
-will stop crying immediately when you take her outside or read "Barnyard Dance"
-helps hold her bottle during her feedings, some times better than others
-laughs when you tickle her but doesn't think funny faces are funny at all!
-absolutely lights up when Corby comes in after work (it is adorable!)
-goes crazy when you go into get her when she wakes up in the morning... kicks her legs and beats her arms against her body
-has discovered that she can squeal, and she wants everyone to hear it!
-loves watching us eat... I think she's getting close to starting food. I'm going to try to wait until 6 months (as recommended by her doctor), but I may start a little early.
-she really only cries when she's tired now... such a wonderful thing! I was obviously used to the all-day crying, but I am glad it is gone!
-she loves music... her favorite songs are "He's got the whole world", "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes", a song Corby made up (he just spells her name and she loves it!), and "If you're happy and you know it" (this one almost makes her giddy!)
We are forever thankful that the Lord blessed us with this sweet little girl! We love you so much, Harper!
Chillin' in her chair
Checking out the toys by her bed
First time to sit up in her crib... she definitely loved the ribbon trim!
Hanging out in her big chair
The polo is a little snug... I wanted at least one more wear out of it
An action shot of her beating her arms against her side

The never ending cold
Sweet Harper has had a cold for SO long now! In fact, her doctor said it is probably 2 different colds, and I just have no idea where she has gotten them! They tested her for the flu (just in case any of the swine got passed on to her), and that was negative... so we were very thankful for that! She is finally fever-free, and her nose isn't running quite as much, but I'm sure she is ready to feel 100% better! Although, she is quite the snuggler when she's sick, which is really sweet (and very unlike her!). We've just laid low this weekend, hoping all the extra rest will help her feel better. But in true Harper fashion, she hasn't been too sick to look adorable for the camera!
Check out those eyelashes!!!
Having fun in the mirror
Laughing at her ridiculous mom
Corby caught her mid-laugh... pretty cute!

These are a few of her favorite things...
Harper has definitely made it clear what she likes and what she doesn't. She is willing to try new things, but it usually takes a few tries before she shows any interest. Here are a few of her favorite things at almost 5 months old.
"Brown Bear" and "Moo, Baa, La La La" are 2 of her favorite books
But "Barnyard Dance" is the clear favorite. Just look at that smile on her face!
Sleeping on her side... here she is shielding her eyes from the light in her room (or at least that's what I say she was doing!)
Learning to be a big girl... here she is sitting in the "tri-pod" form.
I couldn't capture it fully before she toppled over.
Chewing on anything and everything
Playing in the pool and bath. This girl loves the water!
Hanging out in front of the mirror
Jumping around... except when she starts spinning around
and that just makes her mad!
