Harper turned four last Monday, and we celebrated with a painting party! It's what she wanted to do, so I figured out how to keep my house still intact, and we made it happen. The weather didn't cooperate, so it was in our living room. The furniture was in the garage, plastic covered the floor, and we rented kids table and chairs. I'm happy to report that not a single drop of paint got on my floors or walls. Now...the guests clothes might be a whole different story, but I bought washable paint, so it shouldn't have stained. We painted canvases, opened presents, and ate delicious cake (Society bakery is the BEST!). Their party favors were the canvases they made and the aprons they wore. Harper had a great time with her friends, and I'm so glad that so many were able to come! I didn't realize that I planned it on one of the spring break weekends... but the turn out was perfect!
My parents, Tia, and Uncle Mike were here for the weekend, and Corby's parents were here for the party... so Harper was extra spoiled all weekend long. On her actual birthday, we went to play at pump-it-up to play for a while, had lunch at Pot Belly, played games at Chuck E Cheese, and had dinner at Purple Cow. It was a full day! Today was her 4 year check-up, and it was pretty awful. She has always hated having her ears checked. Today's anxiety over it was at an all-time high. I've never seen her so out of control about it. The doctor and I were both a sweaty mess after dealing with it. Then she had to have 2 shots at the end...which I hadn't told her about (due to the already high anxiety). So clearly a lunch of her choice was in order! She chose the mall food court, so we all won!
Here are her stats:
Weight: 39.8 lbs (not sure why they didn't just round up!)
Height: 40.5 inches
Other than the recurring croup attacks she has, she is very healthy (which those are TERRIBLE and we'd love for them to stop!). She's still on her allergy medications, as it seems to be helping with her chronic cough. Her doctor is pleased with her communication (i.e. she talks A LOT!) and all around development. We're so proud of the big girl she is becoming! We love our Harper girl!
