A lover of all things American!

Thanks to my fabulous friend, LC, Harper has been introduced to the presidents of the US. She has 4 finger puppets and one large doll. She takes Abe with her in the car, along with "Lysses" (Ulysses Grant)...and plays with George, Thomas, and little Abe at home. Yes, it's very patriotic of her! I know Auntee LC is extremely proud!

Being patriotic is in my genes (shout out KK!), but music is too! And I don't think it gets much better than American Idol...and Harper wholeheartedly agrees! She asks to watch it every day. We can't watch it live because she goes nuts during commercials! She claps after every performance and always yells "yay!" Thanks to DVR, she can watch AI any time she wants (within reason!). When we returned a gift we had gotten her for her birthday yesterday, I let her choose something in it's place. I showed her so many princess dresses, games, purses...but none of it would do...she had to have the microphone! So she now sings in her microphone any chance she gets!

Cheering up Momma!

Today is the 3rd day in our house where someone is sick! This is not the way I wanted to spend our Spring Break! I've had a terrible stomach bug today, and Harper has been such a trooper (even with a horrible double ear infection!)! She has thankfully kept herself very entertained, and you can tell the moment you look in the den. It looks like a bomb went off! After her nap, she was really cranky, and there wasn't a lot I could do about it! Thankfully, she took it into her own hands to cheer herself up, along with me! She danced like this for at least 30 minutes! I'm so thankful she handled me being on the couch all day so well!

A girl and her chalk

Now that it's warmer, we've been spending a lot of time outside. Her love for sidewalk chalk is in full force! She pours out the chalk, fills the container again, pours it out, and then "writes" her name. She spells it out correctly, but all she makes are straight lines!

Spring Break Treat!

Donuts for breakfast are a huge treat in the Pardue house! And since Harper and I are on Spring Break, I thought a trip to Shipley's would be a fun outing! I also let her have chocolate milk for the first time! I'd say she's s fan! She chose a chocolate glazed with sprinkles and ate most of it! It was such a fun way to start our day!

An Afternoon at the Arboretum

On Sunday, we went to the Arboretum for a picnic and to see the beautiful tulips. We had such a great time! They also have several fairy tale castles set up... and Harper was kind of interested in them! She'd rather just run around then have to look at specific things! We took turns blowing bubbles for her, and she had a blast chasing them! Harper loved having all of her family in town...she definitely misses everyone today!

She loved running through the grass!

Getting ready to chase the bubbles!

I miss the days when she would stand still,
look at me, and smile for the camera!

Hanging out at Ariel's castle!

We missed the Wheelers!!!

This was the best we could get

Harper thought waving in pictures was a really good idea

My gorgeous momma and Harper

While this looks like a sweet moment with my mom and her sons-in-law,
It is deceiving! They think attacking her by tickling her is hilarious,
hoping that one day she will tinkle in her pants! They are so weird!

Harper is 2!!!

Harper's birthday was on Friday, so we celebrated her birthday on Saturday. We had such a great time! It was an afternoon ladybug-themed party. Most of our family was able to be here and Harper's best friends! She handled the crowd really well and loved when everyone sand the birthday song! Here are some pictures from our day of celebrating!

The cute invitation that my sister-in-law made!

Tomorrow...

Tomorrow, this sweet girl will be 2! I seriously can't believe how quickly time has gone by. Yes, many of our days are filled with whining and tantrums, but we have so many sweet moments together too. I love this girl more than I could've ever imagined!
