Free Food For Us!

Yes, Harper is still out of town but we couldn't pass up cow appreciation day this year! Sure we felt a little silly being kidless, but we still had fun! We've enjoyed dressing up for 3 years now...so we couldn't skip it today! Plus we enjoyed a free dinner before vacation...where dinners are very far from free!

Harper's Travels

Harper is still gone...and we actually won't see her until Saturday. My mom asked if she could just stay all week and ride to Destin with her...so we'll have quite the peaceful drive down to Florida! We definitely miss her, but when we FaceTime each night, it's easy to see how much fun she's having...so that makes it all okay! She had a great time in Nashville. She loved all of the sweets she got to eat at the birthday party...which is no surprise, if you know her at all! Here are a few pictures from her last 6 days of traveling!

Ready to celebrate the 4th of July!

Devouring her cupcake!

Loving on cousin E!

Playing dress-up...her face cracks me up!

More dressing up...her favorite thing to do!

A tasty trip to Sweet CC's yogurt

Fishing for the first time and she caught something! She was so proud!!!

Sweet cousins checking out the catch of the day

Tia painted her nails today and she was very excited to show us tonight!

We are having a quiet time here in Dallas. But it's been nice to just spend time together! I've been doing some projects for Henley's room..while also ruining my back! No pain, no gain, right?!?

One Happy Girl...

My mom called a couple of weeks ago to see if Harper could come visit her for a week. So I took her to Texarkana today to meet my mom and brother-in-law, Mike. She was absolutely beside herself when they pulled up! We ate dinner, and then they were off! I did get a kiss and a "bye mom"... but that's about it! And yes, she calls me "mom" now and sounds like she's 10 when she says it!

She's going to have such a fun week! She'll be in Little Rock for a few days and then will go to Nashville for her cousin's birthday party! Because we are driving to Destin soon, I couldn't drive to both places... so I'm so thankful Harper gets to go now! I'm pretty sure she will not be happy about coming home next week! The one good thing is that just a few days after her being home, we'll be going to Destin for her to spend more time with the fam! So hopefully she won't be too unhappy to see us!

Yay for having an awesome and thoughtful mom! I am definitely so thankful for her, and I do not take one minute of my time alone for granted! I have a few things planned, and I'm hoping to be productive in Henley's room too... but we'll see. I very well could end up on the couch each day, watching movies every day.

Family Outing Weekend

On Saturday night, Harper went to her first Ranger's game. Now, if you ask her about it, she'll only mention the food she ate. I don't even think she knew a game was going in, and that's because we were on the very top row of the stadium. So the players looked about an inch big, and she didn't even notice them. I think next time we'll splurge and spend a little more money on better seats so she can actually see the game! But as far as she's concerned, she had some fabulous cotton candy and enjoyed at least half of my strawberry chill!

Looking nice and sweaty!

Our view of the game!

Yesterday, we went up to the pool but they had closed because it was sprinkling. If you ask me, it was pretty crumby of the lifeguards because it wasn't storming at all. If you know Harper well, you know she cried her cry of devastation. It's the one where it's extreme sadness! I quickly looked at movie times as our back up! We went to see Madagascar 3, and she loved it. We didn't do 3D because she has a hard time keeping the glasses on over hers. But I don't think that made us miss out on anything! We all really enjoyed it! Yay for family outings!

Fighting Fancy...

One of my friends from high school and college was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Yes, we are entirely too young!!! I'm thankful that she has her hope in Jesus and is choosing to trust him. She is such a fighter, and I'm so proud to call her my friend! I also love supporting her in tangible ways! So I've been sporting some bracelets to remind me to pray for her throughout the day. Harper is quite interested in them too...so if I'm not wearing them, she is! We love you, Heather!!!

Insomnia

Pregnancy insomnia has set in due to my back hurting...getting comfortable is a thing of the past. I spend most of my time in the middle of the night on the Craigslist app, looking for baby gear to replace all of the things we gave to Taylor...basically every thing! I also enjoy perusing pinterest. If you've ever seen our bathtub, you know it's old and that I can scrub and scrub and it just doesn't look clean. Well, I saw a pin about combining vinegar and dawn to clean your tub. The pin said you just spray it on, leave it for an hour or 2 and wipe and rinse off- no scrubbing necessary. Oh my word...I am now in bathtub cleanliness heaven! Even Corby noticed when he got home from the gym, and that's a big deal! It is sparkly white, without a single hint of dirtiness. Sure the vinegar smell isn't pleasant, but it sure beats toxic fumes! I just turned on the vent and let it do it's magic. So I guess insomnia isn't all that bad...at least I have a really clean bathtub now.

We have a name...

Our precious baby girl will be named Henley Kay! There isn't any significance to Henley except that we just like it. Our goal wasn't all H names...it just so happens that's the only name we liked this time around! Kay is obviously after my mom, the most selfless, Christ-like woman I will ever know. Our prayer for Henley is that she grows up to love the Lord with the same passion that my mom has. We pray that she endures challenges with grace and trust in the Lord, just like my mom has. If you know her at all, you aren't surprised at all that Corby and I wanted to use her name! We are do excited that baby sister has a name! When we asked Harper what she thought, she said, "oh, that's beautiful."
