A new hobby

Okay, I am going to use the term hobby very loosely, but I have high hopes for this one! Since bow making didn't work out like I had planned, my sister-in-law Kacy has me excited about her newest hobby! We went to Atlanta this weekend to visit them, and we had a great time! We finally got to meet Maddox and played a lot with Lake. Harper enjoyed spending time with her aunt, uncle, and cousins! I don't have any pictures from the weekend because Kacy took them all. As soon as she posts some, I will get them. Lake wasn't too interested in sitting still for the camera, but I think she got a few great ones of Maddox and Harper.

So back to the new hobby... Kacy has been making applique shirts lately, and they are so cute. I learned how to do it, and it isn't too difficult either. However, she has a sewing machine to make them look a little more professional. Since I had never used a sewing machine, she let me use it a little while. I made a burp cloth, and it was really easy. If you look closely, it will be evident that it was my first try at the machine, but I was rather proud of myself. I decided to look on Craigslist, and I found a brand new machine for an amazing deal! The lady said she got it for her daughter as a gift, and it didn't go over well! :) I'm going to pick it up on Wednesday, and I can't wait to get started! Kacy made Harper 2 really cute shirts and a precious outfit! I don't have a picture of the outfit because it's deep in the suitcase, and I don't want to wake up Corby while I dig for it... but I'll take one as soon as she wears it. Here are a few pictures of Harper's new treats!

Harper will be cheering on the Tide and the Razorbacks in style!

Looks good from a distance...
but up close some of the stitches got a little crazy

And now a few random pictures that I took last night while she was sleeping. We thought she was sleeping with her bottom in the air, but we were wrong. However, I'm so glad we went in there, because she was sleeping with her mouth open. It was precious...so I obviously took a picture (or 2).

Sleeping with her hands under her face and mouth wide open

I don't think it gets any sweeter than this!

Oh my gosh I want to take up sewing too!! I got my mom to bring down her old machine but I didn't even know how to turn it on last week--so clearly I have a long way to go! Good luck with the new hobby--you may have to give me lessons! I think the burp cloth looks great. :)

Lauren, those are so cute! I would love to have a sewing machine. If you get really into it and adventurous, you could even sell them and make a little $$!

I keep telling my mom she has to teach me to sew! Instead, I just take everything to her!!! I have been looking for a pig shape to do for Cilla. These shirts are precious!
