A trip to the dentist

Harper had her first dental cleaning this morning. It went so much better than I thought it would. She was very cooperative and did almost everything they asked. She laughed so hard when she flossed, and everyone in the office came in to see her. It was hysterical! Who knew flossing could be so fun?!? Dr. Pettrochi is so sweet and did such a great job making Harper feel comfortable. All of the ladies there are so nice!

Our trip to Alabama

Last weekend, we flew to Birmingham for the AL/LSU game. Obviously it wasn't the outcome Corby had hoped for, but we still had a great time! We stayed with one of his college roommates, Trey. A lot of his friends from college came over Friday night, and I know Corby had a great time. Saturday, we went to Tuscaloosa for the game. We ate lunch with his parents and then spent the rest of the day with his brother, Jeff and his wife, Kacy. We had such a fun day! Harper had a blast playing with them! Before Corby headed into the stadium, he walked us back to the car. Since I didn't have a ticket, I took Harper and Ella Grace, Trey and Melissa's daughter, back to their house in Birmingham. We had a fun evening together, and I enjoyed watching the hogs in peace! I was fairly sad on Saturday because my whole family was together for the ShowHope Fellowship Weekend, and it's probably my favorite weekend every year! Hopefully next year we won't have any conflicts because I really missed being there! But we did have fun, so I'm glad we were able to go.

A Royal Halloween

Before entering the Disney store, we had our plan. Harper was going to be Cinderella, and Tay was going to be one of her mice. It was going to be SO cute! But then, as we walked in, Harper spotted the Belle dress. I asked her who she wanted to be, and she quickly said Belle! Then, before I could ask her who Tay would be, she spotted the tiny Belle dress. I've never seen her more excited..."Taylor can be Belle too... just like me!!!!!" Seriously, there's nothing Harper loves more than to match Tay! In fact, she likes to match with anyone. And if y'all are matching in any way (bags, spoons, shirts, etc...), she wants to "cheers" that item. For instance, she "cheers boots" (that's what she says) with my friends at church on Sunday. Never a dull moment... You can blame Corby for that!

So back to Halloween... it was decided, they would both be Princess Belle. If I had had more time, I would've included Corby and I into the fun, but I just didn't. They looked adorable, and Harper had a blast both playing at Saylor's house and trick-or-treating. I'm posting a picture of both girls in their dresses. Now... I'm sure I'm not supposed to show her face on here... but as far as I know, most of the people that read this blog have met her, so I'm not worried. It definitely won't become habit, but I wanted to document their Halloween together. After all, it could be their only holiday to have together! (No, I have no idea how long we'll have her... I just have to be ready at any point. That's just the way the system works around here.)

10 year reunion

This past weekend, we went to LR for my 10 year reunion. It was so much fun, and the people in charge absolutely outdid themselves! Friday night we went to the tailgate before the game but didn't deal with the football game. Since I knew Saturday would be busy, I wanted to spend time with my family! Saturday was a brunch and school tour...but the main event was the party Saturday night. It was at Pavilion in the Park, and Heather Owens transformed the room and made it simply gorgeous! I had the best time catching up with my friends. I could've talked to them all night long. I'm so thankful for the girls the Lord placed in my life many, many years ago.

I forgot how fun it was to get dressed up!

Most of our group from high school...we missed you Emily!

Yay for getting to be with MH!

Most of the group...I think some people left before we took this.

I had so much fun that I think we should have a reunion every year!

Happy birthday to...

The Silliest Human I Know!!! Harper, T, and I are beyond lucky to have Corby in our lives! He's the most loving husband, a fantastic provider, and he makes us laugh all of the time. Who are they being in the picture, you might ask??? With a little (or a lot) imagination, you should see Mary and Joseph...something Harper LOVES to dress up like!

Happy birthday, Corbs! We love you!!!

Disney Live

We took Harper to Disney Live on Sunday afternoon, and from the looks of this picture, you can see how much she loved it! Her three favorite princess stories were performed, with the narrators being Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. It was really cute! I had thought it was on ice, so that's what I kept telling Harper. Thankfully she didn't know what that meant, so she didn't realize they weren't on ice skates! It was so much fun having some special time with Harper. She has done such a wonderful job as a big "sister", so we wanted to do something fun with her. Thanks to our friends, the Smiths, for keeping T!

Fun at the Fair

Corby's parents came in town this past weekend, so we headed down to the fair on Sunday. It would've been a little more enjoyable if it hadn't been raining...but it eventually stopped, so our time there wasn't ruined! We rode the dart train down to Fair Park, and Harper had a blast! She was concerned about the fact that there wasn't a seatbelt but quickly got over it! She loved feeding the farm animals, riding some rides, and of course, eating a funnel cake! A great time was had by all!

Clearly loving the Dart!

The indoor car show was a hit!

Posing with Mother Goose after story time!

This makes me laugh every time I look at it. T looks completely annoyed!

Feeding a baby goat some food

Riding her purple 4-wheeler

She didn't love this one...she had quite the nervous expression the whole ride

This one was a bumpy ride, but she eventually started enjoying it!

We're already looking forward to next year...she'll enjoy it even more!
