A Bloomin' Good Time!

What a fun weekend we had here at our house! I have wanted to post pictures, but we had family here, and I just haven't had any time. The party was a success, and Harper really had so much fun. I wasn't sure how she would respond to all of the people, but she loved it! We also had her baby dedication before her party, but that will be a separate post...maybe today but probably tomorrow. It was such a special time, so I don't want it to get lost in the party post! But here are some of our pictures from the big party weekend! Enjoy!

Indulging in her first Sprinkles cupcake!

She LOVED it!!!

Playing with Eliana...
Yes, they are in matching outfits, and no we didn't plan it.
Great minds think alike.

Harper loved all of the attention she got!

We just wanted to capture her dainty ankles...
She now crosses them every time she eats!

Aunt Kacy is AMAZING!!!
She made Harper this precious backpack!

And Harper loved wearing it!

Yay for cake!

No hands! This is how she kept eating it!

She loved her books!

She's checking out her new Vans!
They are hilarious!

We got her a Bitty Baby... she loves her!

Whew... she was worn out by the end of the day!
Enjoying her last bottle...forever!

My Baby is 1!!!

I can hardly believe that a year has gone by. I mean, if I really think about it, it does feel like quite a bit of time has passed since she was born. You know, because she cried the first 6 months of her life... yeah, that made the days a little long. But oh the joy that sweet Harper has now, it makes all the tears worth it! I sang "Happy birthday" to her when I went in to get her, and she just looked at me like I was so weird. She should probably get used to it. That won't be the only time I embarrass her! I decided to let her try eggs for her birthday breakfast (I'm taking it slow with common allergy foods, since she has had some issues), and she wasn't interested in them at all. She chunked them to the ground and once again, gave me her look. I quickly got her usual breakfast (blueberry waffle) to her tray, and everything was great. We have had a fun day... lunch at home, played a long time at the park, read a lot of books, and tickled the ivories for a while. Yes, Auntee LC got her a piano for her birthday. She loves it! We'll be going to dinner tonight and then will probably head to Sprinkles for her first taste of a cupcake. In fact, she probably can't even fall asleep right now because she's so excited about it. Here are some pictures I've taken of her today... Enjoy!

She allowed her birthday hat to be on for about .2 seconds!
At least it was long enough for a picture.

Look at the lip! I actually think she had food in her mouth,
but it definitely looks like she is pouting!

Doing what she loves the most... swinging!

And all day, this is what I've envisioned...
the prints of the outfits are the same!

Today has been a fun day, thinking about March 11, 2009 and all that happened that day. I think I'll take a little walk down memory lane...

All hooked up and ready to go...

If you read my blog last year, I was sad because Mean Nurse Kathy did my IV wrong,
so Nice Nurse Tracy had to fix it.

Corby thought it was a good idea to capture my contractions.

Just doing a little g-chatting... I think this was with Shannon!

Things were going well until BOOM...
Harper needed more oxygen and I had a fever

LC brought some birthday presents for Harper!
It was the perfect timing too!
This was right before my doctor told me "We need to get her out of there"!

And so at 5:42pm...

My precious baby was born!

Happy Birthday, Harper girl!

A perfect day...

Yesterday afternoon we headed out to the Arboretum because the weather was just perfect! Harper proved once again how dainty she is, since she was repulsed at the thought of crawling on the grass. She eventually got used to it, especially once there was a cute boy to chase! But at first, she had no interest in touching it with her hands. I think we took about 100 pictures, but don't worry... I narrowed it down to just a few!

Look at those dainty hands!

Clapping and saying "Ohhh"

This little girl loves life!

This was the best one...
which tells you how awful the other ones were!

Practicing her walking

Such a sweet picture...
2 of my most favorite people in the world!

It's not the best, but I'll take a smile from her any day!

More than a name

When we were in Little Rock, Ann (my mom's best friend) gave Harper this precious shirt and bow. I love that her middle name is on it too... especially since she was named after Ann. I have amazing women in my family, all of whom I hope Harper is just like one day... and I include Ann in that mix. She knows what it looks like to be a wonderful wife and friend, and not only do I try to be like her, I pray that Harper will be influenced by her as well... even though she lives several hours away! She is such an encouragement to my mom, and I am forever thankful that the Lord brought them together many, many years ago. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day she was sporting her new shirt and bow (and hilarious skinny jeans!).

Watching the older kids play at the park

This girl loves to swing!

A look at her full outfit... I LOVE it!

Giving her signature look to an innocent bystander

And precious Saylor had no interest in the swing...
She preferred to play in the bark and dirt!

Only 8 more days...

I can't believe that Harper will be 1 in only 8 days. I can think back on March 3, 2009, and I'm pretty sure I can remember everything I was doing. I have had a lot of fun looking back at posts from last year. I'm pretty sure that at this point last year, I was kind of freaking out. I certainly got over it, but I think the freaking out was perfectly acceptable! Anyway, this past weekend Harper and I went to Little Rock. I had a wedding shower to go to, so we made a fun little trip out of it. Harper had a great time with Kay-Kay, Gran-D, Papa G, Chelsea and all of Kay-Kay's friends! She especially LOVED Daisy, my mom's/Leah's cat. Now, I don't believe Daisy shared the same affection for Harper, but that didn't stop Harper. She followed her around and every time she entered the room, Harper would look at her and say "Ohhhhh". Her new love for saying "Ohhhh" is so cute! We had a great time and are looking forward to having all of the family here next weekend, for the big birthday party! Here are some pictures from the weekend... Enjoy!

Mesmerized with Daisy's tail

Moving all over Kay-Kay's den

Sweet Harper just wanted to touch her!

Daisy got a little jealous... she thought this toy was for her!

Wearing her new hat that Kay-Kay got her for Valentine's Day!

She enjoyed the closing ceremonies by waving her flag
and wearing her Olympic beret!
She thought waving her glad was such a fun time!
Yes... my mom has about 8 of those berets.
She found them on sale after the '04 Olympics! Hilarious!
